PISCO

JMWAREHOUSE import and represent the most famous brands of Pisco .

What is Pisco?

Grapes were first brought to Peru in the XVI century, from the Canary Islands, by Francisco Pizarro Caravantes.
The chroniclers of those days say that it was in the Marcahuasi Hacienda in Cusco where the first wine in South America was produced.

It was such a success that wine began to be exported from the Viceroyalty of Peru to Spain. The producers of the Spanish peninsula requested Phillip II to ban this trade a petition that became effective in 1614.

As a result of this restriction, the coastal farmers intensified their production of the grape-based liquor, a product which was exported through the Port of Pisco, thereby patenting the product and its name.

The Pisco was initially prepared with Quebranta grape, a variety of non- aromatic grape with a very peculiar taste, resulting from the mutation of the black grape imported from Spain, induced by the plant's adaptation to the stony soil and desert climate present in the valleys of Southern Peru.

The most famous drink prepared with Pisco is Pisco Sour.
